> Why are you not using Linux already?
1) Microsoft Office and other programs not ported for linux
2) Almost everyone uses Windows 10,11 instead linux
3) Hard install (example: Gentoo,LFS,Arch Linux)

We're already using. In Russia there are some really cool distributions, for instance, Astra Linux (official derivative of Debian, which is certified and being used by government structures), Alt Linux (independent RPM-based distro for all purposes), ROSA (desktop-oriented mandriva fork), etc. Also, there is ElbrusOS (linux distro for russian e2k CPU).
The biggest problem in spreading Russian gnu/linuxes is the fact that 95% of population is afraid of linuxes, recalling stories from sysadmins of 00's.
> no eq
There is.
> no programs to produce music on
Working in Reaper, recording guitars, vocals, using synths, including Windows-only, such as AD2 and Labs (thanks to wine and yabridge). Also, in Windows I had to install drivers for audio card and my usb micro, while on Linux standard sound stack (ALSA) and JACK detected devices immediately after plugging them in. ЧЯДНТ?

1. MSOffice can be replaced with, for example, OnlyOffice, other programs — which? Also you can use wine/proton.
3. Taking distributions for at least not-newbies as example of installation of all linuxes is enchanting. In my experience, modern Windows installation is harder than installation of user-friendly distributions (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora, Manjaro, openSUSE (ok, not so), Simply Linux/Alt Linux, etc)
i use devuan...
I use EndeavourOS.

Use Mint or Ubuntu if you want easy installation, lol
I am though.

1) Use LaTeX or LibreOffice if you are normie
2) Who cares + Windows loses market share every year
3) Use just werks distros like Manjaro or Ubuntu if you are noob or don't care
Honestly if you can browse the internet on it and you don't need any windows software and you don't care about having zero support from law enforcement for what you do with it then it's pretty good.
Privacy and security on a computer is a waste of time.
I don't understand how you would pay extra for an OS controlled by a foreign adversary threatening to disable your nations computers, when all you use that fancy OS for is running a web browser, presumably Chrome or Firefox which are not even Windows native programs in the first place.
Distribution of Arch Linux distros is considered dissemination of LGBT terrorist propaganda in Russia

Russia becomes the centre of Linux development and significantly increases the share of this operating system in the world. This is a domino principle that will have a significant impact on the position of Winodws and MacOS in the world over the next 10 years.
Astra is actually the most secure OS in the world.
English wikipedia states that there is only the one used by special services, but in fact it has both special edition(hospitals, schools, police and so on) and community for home.
Microsoft is as a hole shit as all your sanctions.
I still download their images via Powershell 7.4.1, lol
I had great time using Fedora 35 Cinnamon on my shitty HP laptop with Athlon 3150U (I actually had no choice for some time because retards at HP did something that made Windows periodically freeze the whole computer, later it was fixed with a BIOS update). Wouldn't mind going back to Fedora but I'm too used to MusicBee as a music player and paint.net as an image editor, and none of the alternatives worked out for me.
>Why are you not using Linux already?
i think the problem is computer ignorance of people, which don't feel comfort in use windows.
sorry for my english
:(
i do. have installed linux about half of year ago. satisfied like an elephant
Shitty UI.
Which one? GNOME, KDE, MATE, Cinnamon, LXDE, Xfce?
The linux distributions have different interfaces.
You can customize and put Windows like themes, skins, icons or whatever. And use dual boot. This even recognizes Windows NTFS drives / partitions and mount them. Very good when you need to just to browse and don't have Win11 bloatware randomly sucking CPU and RAM.

I do use linux.
it's not Stallmanix, it's if Stallmanix would have windows problems (pro tip: they would be solveable)
most people do not use it if they didn't tried it or were falsely advised by micro-shills to try anything but Mint-MATE
trying some shitty dump like arch instead
trying canonical, that works against itself since it got any popularity
trying gentoo (mostly advised as a joke), that's not for the basic 101 users
or anything along those lines
yup, the best are community driven distros, not what Red Hat/IBM , Canonical or SUSE decides.
>Canonical
Russophobic shit, like Microsoft
I installed a commercial distribution of the RED OS for myself and have no complaints. It is time for Russians to say goodbye to Western technologies not because they have become less available, but because a focus on their own technologies will give a very strong boost in the future in addition to the comfort that the Russian IT segment can give the user already now. Russia in such conditions will become the vanguard of technologies implemented in Linux in the future.
(t. other)
it's not even about community or anything
Mint MATE just works well for the people, that's all
there were two large influxes of users
first one trough ubuntu, MS paid them so that they would ruin their interface, changing it to some sensor-display bullshit, that is not fit for desktop
second was trough Mint,
Mint wasn't affected, but MS started pushing Arch and similar non-user-friendly distros trough distrowatch and other channels
so people go on trying GNU OS Stallmanix, but they see that it's the exact shit they are expecting, with those expectationg given to them by Microsoft FUD-marketing team — that Stallman OS is same enormous shitpile of problems as Windows, but this time do it in a new strange way
logical solution to that is to advise people to use Mint, and to not use any other strange distro
like rn distrowatch is advertising some "MX Linux" as the most popular distro, made by lightweight LiveCD devs'
nobody would want their desktop to be run by a distro oriented to be a live-cd
well at least that's not Arch or Slackware
>and to not use any other strange distro
Gonna try Xubuntu instead of Linux Mint Xfce for an old laptop from 2009 in some partition of secondary disk - a HDD. The distro may be more updated than Linux Mint Xfce in terms of GNOME apps, if some exist in Xfce.

Fix.
It's also not a complete list here.
According to a poll conducted in an unpopular article on hubra for 2022, the best Russian distro, according to those who voted, is ALT Linux.
Also:
374 users voted. 314 users abstained.
Which tells us that about half of those who read the article do not use Russian distributions. This is worth including in forming an opinion.
Also 2:
ROSA Fresh is the home variant of the ROSA Linux family of specialized distributions.

Cuz I don't want to waste time trying to fix Linux or tweak shit to launch things that would need just two clicks to launch in Win. Linux does not value my time.
are you serious? when windows says to you "error 0xPotatoRape" you think this is valuing your time? linux doesn't pretend that it's smarter than you and doesn't obfuscate stuff.
On windows if you want to find out what a process is doing: you go online and download some shady tools made by Mark Russinovich™
On linux: you have everything preinstalled
The only thing which is easier on windows is running latest games, if that's your goal then indeed it's a great OS for you
>I don't want to waste time trying to fix Linux or tweak shit to launch things
What? I used linux for the past four years and for me it just works.
The only time I ever had an issue it took me around 10 minutes to fix the problem after reading arch wiki.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qec7Gj4DcQ
It depends on your workflow, money, and what use a PC for, or if you have a backup PC to start.
>It's not two clicks to launch in Win
1) I had to put fucking drivers via DISM - Command Prompt so that I had a bootable USB medium to reinstall Windows 11 because it somehow asked for drivers at the start while reinstalling Windows 10 with USB image was okay, didn't asked for random drivers on laptop of 2020. Insane. I couldn't install Windows 11 at first hand because of an unknown driver that the fucking installation program wouldn't tell me, even with OEM website would say it was driver X and it wasn't. While Linux distributions have a graphic installer and even some with live CD - 99% drivers on its kernel - that it's easier and faster to install, deploy than Windows.
2) In the older laptop that doesn't follow up "Windows 11 requirements - TPM, RAM, etc" , I used Rufus bypass and I had to create restore points and reinstall each driver to find out what driver was making kernel panic and BSOD and trying out with Third-party apps like Snappy Origin driver and other one, finding out what was the right driver obviously trying OEM laptop and AMD.
b) Then AMD doesn't create Windows 11 drivers anymore for that laptop's GPU and Windows 11 even considers those drivers incompatible with security. So when Windows 12 comes with more requirements, that still working laptop is even more fucked up specially not knowing if that driver would still work.
>fix Linux or tweak shit to launch things
boomer grandparents friendly can use Linux Mint. and they don't need to tweak. I'm on KDE's Fedora spin never had to tweak anything and I will install some RAM less consuming Fedora Desktop Environment spin in the older laptop (with dual boot with Windows as backup plan)
>boomer grandparents
In Portugal, are they also so backward that they can't use anything sophisticated technologically except simple things like Linux Mint?
I dream of installing it on my PC.
Until I start reading at least one of the 12 downloaded Linux books that have been sitting on my computer for a year now, I won't install Linux.
The problem is that I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator at the same time.
>60-80y portuguese non-IT boomers that didn't even upgrade windows 7 are using sophisticated, complex Ganno slash Lincuckos distros
highly doubt about that. my mother's former waitress can't even read. I also highly doubt about most Russian boomers specially males surviving past 65y threshold.
>I also highly doubt about most Russian boomers specially males surviving past 65y threshold.
In fact, there are plenty of them. 80-90 is a normal age for an old man in Russia. I don't know where you get these stupid figures from, my life experience is completely different.

The purpose of the build: to simplify the transition from Windows\MacOs to Linux. Pro version - paid and unlike
Pro contains more tools for desktop customization and special pre-installed applications(+technical support from the author) - a peculiar form of donation. I didn't find any functional differences from Core.
1920x1080, 0:52
I thought the money was for technical support. But in the website, it doesn't say anything. It is just advertising some mix of Edubuntu and Ubuntu Studio.
>thought the money was for technical support.
That's weird, there used to be tech support. Now there isn't. Sorry, bro, that's changed since the last time I watched it. I was wrong too, origin: Ireland. Made by a Russian immigrant.
Yes, it is an Ubuntu-based distribution created by one person for the purpose I described above. As far as it seemed to me, this purpose is realized much more effectively than Linux Mint. In any case, I'm not advertising it. I just decided to post linux builds here in this format for information. And you can do that too if you want to share the distro.
Origin:
I decided to post this to indicate if there would be payment issues if the distro was a paid distro.
I saw a distro for Media makers that had everything pre-installed for this, but I can't remember what it was called. Would love to find it.
Because I don't care.
Какой Зорин ОС, надо было BOLGEN OS называть.
And companies that make laptops for Windows in Russia?
There isn't one, where are attempts to creat smth of the sort for the past 10 years, but the money just gets stolen every time. Just like with our drone program before the SMO.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_laptop_brands_and_manufacturers#Other_brands
I confirmed it in here and there's nothing, you're right
>No 3ds max
It is inferior to Blender in everything in the gamemadev niche, though not only in it. The only advantage of 3ds max over Blender is corporate - synchronization for a large team out of the box. 3ds max and its philosophy is outdated. Autodesk should take Maya and 3ds max and go into oblivion. Moreover 3ds max is already inferior to Blender technologically.
Blender is linux compatible and available anytime, it is not subject to EU export restrictions because of the GPL and it will always be with you.
There is, but it's for corporate clients. Where data protection is required.
Don't listen to this zoomer. >>29455 He can't give a single example of his statements (and that goes for every post he makes). There was one case of failure in the development of a Russian tablet by the state corporation Rosnano under the leadership of Anatoly Chubais (now a Jew who fled to Israel), where he promised to produce tablets for schoolchildren, but in the end nobody needed the tablet and the project was closed.

I love you so much ! You are the only one who stands up for Russian failures, I only hope your are a genuine person and not a paid goon.
You simply have no idea how much effort, money and ingenuity it takes to make a competitive product in a country whose products are not allowed on equal terms on the market by the main holder of world trade - the USA. At the same time you have to bypass patents, and the world does not stand still and new patents appear with great speed, so I consider even a small success a success.
I blame the tsarists for fucking up Russia for the communists; the communists for being sure that the planned economy works; the liberals for finishing, plundering and destroying the remnants of the USSR's potential in the 90s (Chubais, by the way, is one of them). And, of course, the modern day dumb bastards who first whine that Russia has nothing of their own, and then mock and laugh at the conceptual prototype of a Russian game console.

CPUBaikal-M (8 cores, 1.5 GHz)
>CPUBaikal-M
Poor compatibility with games (except for Russian ones, which can provide source code for Baikal compiler). So it is not good for everyday life yet.
>I blame the tsarists for fucking up Russia for the communists
Suddenly I realise that we can't be friends.
it's for enterprises (minimum order 300 laptops) and games are never good for laptops including "gayming laptops"
I confused it with Elbrus processors from MCST because I wanted to sleep. Some Baikal processors (not all) are based on Arm Cortex architecture, including the model you mentioned, this is done just for compatibility with common hardware. MCST(processors, boards), Baikal(processors), Mikron(boards and chips), Graviton(own BIOS and mini-PC) are the core of the future Russian computer industry(after all, that's what I pay taxes for, lmao). But I consider Multiclet with its multicell processors to be the true underestimated breakthrough.
>MultiClet
They even have a neural processor for some purpose.
The pro-Western policy of pro-Western Russia. After such political destructive schizophrenia, it is difficult to restore industry. Breaking is easy, build is not.

Lol, soviet chips. Like chips in SU. Read again that you said, dumb-dumb. Where were nothing of the sort there, they were 20 years behind of American development than, abd you wanna have same level 30 y after that. Non of those factories produced anything that xan ve sold on opened market, coyse they weren't build to function on open market and where wasn't any cash to keep it afloat. Maybe if we would sold it to americans, but who would buy that trash ?
Why don't you just fuck off, stupid zoomer? You can't back up any of your assertions, you disgraceful retard. You can't back up any of your assertions because you are a disgraceful uneducated retard. Don't embarrass yourself, faggot.

We don't have shit like that. Instead, the state and private foundations of big businessmen give grants for projects.
For example, state organizations:
- Department of State Support for Art and Folk Art of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation
- Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives
- National Project “Culture” (Grants are awarded on the basis of competitions)
- Russian Culture Foundation
- Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh.Granty)
- Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. (Also provides grants for the organization and holding of popular science events for a wide audience, i.e. for popularization of science)
- Internet Development Institute (gives money for game development and development of Internet projects)
Also, russia has its own Cyrillic domain zone. In case you didn't know. Like Abu.

some russians even have sites in .su domain. SU Soviet Union https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/.su
